The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) organized its inaugural ceremony of 23rd Chittagong International Business Fair 2015 on 3rd March in the afternoon at Polloground field. Minister for Commerce Tofael Ahmed as chief guest inaugurated the ceremony. In his inaugural address, the minister praised the role of CCCI and said CCCI is working as a powerful driving force for economic development in Bangladesh.
The minister also assured the residents of Chittagong that Tea Board will not be shifted anywhere. It will remain in Chittagong. The minister informed the people that Chittagong Port will be modernized for the sake industrial and business developments in Chittagong. For this al LLG terminal will be constructed at Moheshkhali. Mr. Tofael further assured that a power station of 1320 MW at the cost ot Tk 36000 will be set-up at Matarbari of Cox’s Bazar and at the cost of Dollar 1.5 billion the capacity of the country’s only refinery will raise to twice.
The inaugural ceremony was attended as special guests and also addressed by state minister for land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury and Abdul Latif MP. The others who addressed in the ceremony are Didarul Alam MP, Sabiha Musa MP, Senior Vice President of CCCI and CITF 2015 Chairman Md. Nurun Newaz Selim and CCI Vice President and CITF 2015 Co-Chairman Sayed Zamal Ahmed. Among distinguished guests were directors of CCCI Board, former directors, Honorary consulates, diplomats, government officials, business leaders, bankers, local elites and eminent citizens.
The ceremony was presided over by CCCI President Mahbubul Alam. In his address, the CCCI President raised the demand od importing gas from neighbour county Mymanmer through discussion by G To G for ensuring the development and growth of industrial sector in Chittagong.
This time around 400 organizations including 38 pavilions and 239 stalls toot part in the fair. The fair will open from 10 am to 10 pm. considering the privileges of visitors, ticket price is fixed only Tk 10 and the fair will continue the whole month.
