Voy@ger, an English Medium School of Saifur’s is a brain-child of Prof. Khalilur Rarham Khan, the Chairman and Principal of Voy@ger. Previously, he was the director of IBA of the University of Dhaka. Voy@ger was established in 2009 in its own five-storied building known as Khan Manjil situated at Mirpur-10 in the capital city Dhaka. Since 2013 Voy@ger is a Cambridge Associate school and a registered centre of Cambridge exam board which is indeed a benchmark of our standard, said Luna Arif, Vice-Principal, Voy@ger English Medium School, while talking to this correspondence in an interview with The Guardian.
Our aim is to impart quality education to the children particularly in Mirpur area. This school has a team of highly qualified and Edexcel and Cambridge trained teachers with English Medium background. Not only this, Voy@ger is committed to ensure a safe, tranquil and serene educational environment to groom and nurture the young teachers to build a respected, appreciated and distinguished community as a model of collaboration, novelty and distinction for all, she added.
Although this school is a new one, we have a good number of students from Play Group to O-level. Each year the number of pupils is increasing. In the coming years, we have to rent another building to accommodate our new students, she informed.
While narrating the various facilities provided to the students, she expressed that the library, lab and other facilities of Voy@ger are worth mentioning. There are more than 10,000 books for the students and teachers. In addition, our labs and IT room are well-equipped.
In an answer of question on extra curricular, she said that as far as the sports and other cultural activities, Voy@ger is undoubtedly at the top position. We have as many as twenty cultural and extra curricular activities round the year.
One of the most important features of our school is that we regularly liaise with the guardians to keep them updated on the performance of their wards. Furthermore, we keep a close match on the performance of the teachers. In fact, we regularly impart in-house professional training to our teachers so that they can give their best, she told.
“Students of an EnglishMediumSchool ought to speak English like a native speaker” this is our concept and doctrine. With this end in view, we have meanwhile introduced special Full-Immersion Class for all, on “Phonetics and Phonology” to brush on the pronunciation of our students, she mentioned.
She also told that we have always felt profound relation between sound health and sound mind. So we arrange regular checkups of the students to keep them physically and mentally sound.
She hopes that it is her firm conviction that schools like Voy@ger can translate the dreams of the students into reality. Besides, all our undertakings and efforts will surely stand your ward, in good stead when it comes to planning their career in future.
At the end, she thanks The Guarding, a renowned monthly for giving her a chance to focus on Voy@ger.
